Cat Guardians
Cat Guardians, Inc was opened in 1988 by director Kathy Blackwell in a two-story white clapboard house near the corner of St. Charles and Westmore Rd. in Lombard, Illinois. The shelter has seen over 1500 cats adopted from the shelter, where they have been nursed back to health or at least avoided the need to scavenge garbage or prowl for prey in the wilds of suburban Chicago.

Dog vs. Cat Diary
A clever look at what cat's life is compared to that of a dog. The simple things in life make such a big difference.

Poisonous Plants List
The Cat Fanciers' Association compiled a list of poisonous plants for cats. To avoid any confusion it is always recommened to keep any types of plants out of reach of your feline companion. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Rescued Kittens
Many cats have been abandoned by their owners, and have not been altered. These cats have litters of kittens, who, if not handled by humans, become feral or wild cats. Kittens under 8-9 weeks of age can be tamed and placed. Kittens under 5 weeks will need to be hand fed. The adults need to be altered and returned, providing the location is safe for the cat. This is called TNR, or Trap-Neuter-Return.
